Director of Social Media, Content Creation and Digital - NY

 

A unique opportunity to help a creative, $9-million travel, real-estate, F&B, luxury and lifestyle PR firm start and grow a social-media, content-creation and digital division across offices in NYC, your home base, Miami and LA.  Our clients regularly appear in the top media; we are known for our creative work (recipient of four HSMAI Best of Show Awards), and we are one of the NY Observer’s Most Powerful PR firms of 2018.

The ideal candidate is smart, innovative, strategic and personable, able to win new business, win over clients and craft winning campaign.  You are a team player who will coach, grow and lead a vibrant team.  You are willing to work with budgets that conform to our industries.  You will be a leader of the firm, working with the owner and the NYC/Miami/leadership teams.  Our culture is entrepreneurial, collaborative, be-who-you-are, forward-thinking and passionate about what we do. 

The ideal candidate has management experience, exceptional client experience, excellent writing and communication skills, is creative as well as highly visual and design-oriented, and has worked in the hospitality, F&B and/or real-estate industries.  This is a senior-level position for those with at least 6 years of agency, media, independent or in-house social-media, content-creation and digital experience.

Responsibilities:

Drive new business by networking and helping to win new business

Write proposals, campaign ideas, presentations and budgets

Oversee and elevate the social-media work of a small team, writing strategy and creative decks and timelines, editing and signing off on calendars and posts, Influencer work and reports

Provide training, coaching, mentoring, as well as inspiration and support

Oversee client meetings, providing big-picture, creative and strategic thinking

Manage work and results for budgets that conform to our industries

Recommend and execute paid social-media work

Establish strong professional relationships with clients

Source and manage photographers, videographers, freelancers, directors and designers and as needed

Integrate social-media work with the firm’s other work, as well as the clients’ paid-digital and SEO arms, to help produce maximum impact, results, engagement, traffic and ROI

Become a valued industry expert who will reinforce the agency’s creative capabilities and offerings

Stay on top of current trends

Work closely with owner and senior leaders in Miami and across all offices

Start to think like a Chief Marketing Officer

Requirements:

6 years of social-media, content-creation and digital experience

Knowledge of at least one of the areas of travel, real-estate and F&B industries; willingness to learn the others

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Excellent visual eye

3 years of management experience

Proficient in Hootsuite, Onlypult and Meltwater social listening/content management tools or the equivalent

Knowledge of the latest in social-media, content-creation and digital marketing practices

Account Executive - NY

 

Responsibilities:

Manage daily activities on accounts

Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for media and clients

Write press releases, media alerts, photo captions, media pitches, biographies, newsletters, etc.

Secure consistent and quality media placements with active pitching

Develop and maintain solid media relationships with journalists, bloggers and social media influencers, especially in the real estate and lifestyle realm

Maintain client relations through meetings, conference calls, events, general contact

Display clear understanding of client expectations and goals

Prepare and present meeting agendas, notes, reports, etc.

When needed, assist with organizing and attending events

Monitor and engage on behalf of clients in digital media space as appropriate

Perform in-depth research and analysis of clients (audits)

Recognize and call attention to potential client opportunities for improvement

Assist with developing strategic and creative integrated PR initiatives

Stay up to speed on current industry news, trends and technology

Requirements:

BA or BS in related field

Minimum two-year related experience in real estate, hospitality or architecture/design

Familiarity with lifestyle clients is a plus

Agency experience is a plus

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Proficient in AP style

Online community management experience (Facebook page or group administrator, forum administrator, etc.) a plus

Knowledge of web design, search engine optimization, and basic HTML are a plus

Proficiency using Cision/Cisionpoint, Lexis Nexis, news wires, MS applications

Working knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and ability to assist clients with developing strategies on these platforms

Familiarity with industry-appropriate bloggers and social media influencers

Prepare meeting agendas, notes, reports, etc.

Organize and attend events, including press trips and media tours

Monitor, engage, assist in providing strategic counsel and brainstorm innovative campaigns on behalf of clients in the digital media space

Recognize if there is a potential client problem and bring it to supervisor’s attention with a suggested solution 

Perform in-depth research and analysis of clients

Assist with developing strategic and creative integrated PR initiatives

Stay on top of current industry news, trends and technology

Three or more years work experience in travel, F&B, entertainment and/or lifestyle PR

Ability to adapt to fast-paced, multi-tasking, unique work environment

Solid portfolio of secured national media coverage including newspaper, magazine, broadcast, and online coverage  

Comprehensive knowledge of the media, including industry-appropriate bloggers and influencers

Comprehensive knowledge of the PR industry

Working knowledge of social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.

Online community management experience (Facebook page or group administrator, forum administrator, etc.) a plus
