Construction workers, the unsung heroes of our world-class buildings, execute others’ visions with talent and skill.
We created Artists-in-Construction at 50West to bring attention to the laborers and the craft of construction.
Noa Caruvi, the first of three artists capturing 50West rising through art, documented the progress for three months before beginning to paint out of studio space at the 50West Sales Gallery, where visitors can watch while she works.
"it's been remarkable to see people build this skyscraper with their bare hands, and in any weather," said the artist. "I'm humbled." (WSJ, 9/8/14)
Developer Francis Greenburger, in addition to being a collector, supports the arts through Time Equities’ Art in Buildings, Omi International Art Center in Columbia County and The Francis J. Greenburger Award.
