I am someone who loves advertisements, especially full-page fashion ads in glossy magazines. In addition to being creative, beautiful and captivating, they are mini stories that convey the brand. The narrative is key to winning me over as a customer. 

Once I saw the messy, un-stylized side of a brand, and it made me uncomfortable. I didn't want to see its unmade bed. I count on being seduced by the magic of what happens in the fussed-over ad and the perfectly curated shop. Sometimes I walk into stores like Ralph Lauren just to enjoy the plush, well-appointed and put-together surroundings.  

Us PR people have much to learn from ad folks on how to tell the brand story. To begin with, less copy and more stand-out images.

Today my favorite ad campaign is the Louis Vuitton series with Michelle Williams.
