Just as hoteliers are reclaiming their share of the market back from the online travel agencies (OTAs), Google joins the game. 

Maybe that’s okay.  Google isn’t asking for a commission – just more ads that will hopefully generate more click throughs to hotel website.  Google knows that the goal of every hotelier is to drive consumers to its website for direct bookings.

If Google is successful, hotels will have an alternative to the OTAs – an online referral portal that doesn't charge commissions of up to 25%.
