The New York Times escapes the concrete jungle of NYC to explore the trend of greenery moving inside new residential developments.

Leading this trend is 525 West 52nd Street in Hell’s Kitchen, where an interior garden atrium is the centerpiece of its grand lobby. At Citizen360 on the Upper East Side, a living green wall gives the lobby a splash of nature.

“It’s reframing landscape almost as art,” said David Seiter, founding principal and design director of Future Green Studio, the landscape architect behind 525W52.
