Amazon rocked Long Island City’s world when it announced that one of its two new headquarters would be located in the rapidly growing Queens neighborhood.

LIC-brokerage Modern Spaces received a flood of inquiries tied to the announcement, including some from savvy Amazon staffers eager to get in early. 

Eric Benaim, president and founder of Modern Spaces, which represents many LIC condo developments, told the WSJ: “’On Friday, an Amazon employee based in Seattle made a deal to buy a one-bedroom condo at the Craftsmen Townhomes, a low-rise development in the neighborhood.’”
